Air Fryer Churros

There’s nothing quite like biting into a warm, crispy churro dusted with cinnamon sugar. Originating from Spain, these sweet treats are a staple at carnivals and fairs worldwide.

Air Fryer Churros

But did you know you can easily make them at home using an air fryer? Yes, you read that right! And to make the process even more fun, I’ve invested in a special churro device that shapes the dough into perfect, ridged cylinders.

Piped Churros

Recipe Tips:

  • Ensure your dough is not too runny. It should hold its shape when piped through the churro device.
  • Be careful not to overcrowd your air fryer. The churros need space to cook evenly.
  • Serve your churros fresh and warm for the best taste and texture.

Substitutions:

  • If you don’t have a churro device, you can use a piping bag with a large star tip.
  • For a healthier alternative, you can replace all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
  • You can substitute vegetable oil with coconut oil for a slightly different flavor.

FAQs:

  1. Can I make these without an air fryer? Yes, you can deep-fry them in a pot of oil heated to 375 degrees F.
  2. Can I store leftover churros? They’re best enjoyed fresh, but you can store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  3. Can I reheat churros? Yes, you can reheat them in the oven or air fryer until warmed through.

Making churros at home might seem intimidating, but with the right tools (like my new churro device!) and a little practice, you can whip up these sweet Spanish delights in no time. The air fryer provides a healthier alternative to the traditional frying method, without compromising on that signature crunch and flavor. So why wait? Gather your ingredients and get ready to embark on a delicious culinary journey. Enjoy your homemade Air Fryer Churros!
